1. The service
StrikeThrough (“we”, “us”) provides an online manuscript workspace for writing, organising, sharing, and backing up book chapters. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
You sign in with an email magic link. You are responsible for keeping access to that email secure. Editors may invite other people to a book and assign roles (editor, author, or viewer).
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the manuscript content you upload or write. You grant us permission to store, process, and display that content solely to operate StrikeThrough for you — including sharing with people you invite, generating summaries or proofreading suggestions you request, and sending backup emails.
4. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no unlawful content, no attempts to break security, and no using another person’s account without permission. We may suspend access if these terms are breached.
5. Backups & availability
We aim to keep the service available and may email chapter backups as a safety net. StrikeThrough is not a substitute for your own copies of important work. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every edit will be emailed.
6. AI features
Optional AI tools (such as proofreading or summaries) may send manuscript text to third-party providers to generate results. Output can be imperfect — you remain responsible for reviewing and deciding what to keep.
7. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost manuscript text, lost profits, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if the service is free).
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. The date above shows when this page was last revised.
